Western Canada Premiere! LEAVE THEM LAUGHING is a switch for Academy Award-winning Canadian filmmaker John Zaritsky - from right to die (Internationally acclaimed THE SUICIDE TOURIST), to dying right. This film takes the audience on a 90-minute journey into the life and oncoming death of Carla Zilbersmith. Once a vibrant performer, Carla has been diagnosed with Lou Gehrig’s Disease and given two years left to live; however, she is determined to suck every last drop of pleasure from life before she has to go.

“‘Dead is the new alive.’ Footage from her final tours abroad is intercut with interviews, confessionals and skits that form a portrait of a brave woman prepared to drink deep from the cup of life and appreciate every moment.
